What do we do?
We are an investment placement and trade consulting company focusing on Africa. We accept project proposals from companies in Africa seeking funding and/ or trading opportunities. The companies must meet our ethical and business criteria. Our company code of ethics is posted on our website. African Wood Inc does raise capital from banks, private investors and or invest its own funds in the project in a mixture of debt, equity or both. In the process of dealing with clients, additional service needs to arise and we gladly meet our customer demands.
How do we work?
We actively prospect for trade finance deals by targeting importers/Exporters from Africa, and exporters from the United States. We actively prospect for project finance deals by targeting US companies with interests in expanding or exporting to East Africa, or generally those interested in doing business with Africa. We also look for project finance deals. We are very aware that internal finance house procedures are in most cases demanding and meeting them requires full attention to detail.
There times when the market does not have the kind of product or service best suited for our clients, in those cases we work with market players to tailor an appreciate solution. If a solution is available, we shall find it otherwise we shall create one!
And then, we sell American brands. Services, products or franchises – we are happy to market!
Delaware Registered Agent
To further their business interests our clients sometimes require company registration and incorporation services. Delaware’s business friendly legal environment attracts them to us. African Wood Inc understands that forming a Delaware company, whether a general corporation, limited liability company (LLC), or nonprofit entity can be challenging. Delaware Law requires every corporation incorporated in its registry to have a Delaware registered agent. As a registered agent we are confident that we can help guide our clients through the formation process and yearly renewal requirements.
- Delaware is considered the most attractive state in the nation for organizing.
- Delaware courts have a reputation of reaching reasonable and fair conclusions when construing the corporation laws.
- Only one incorporator is required. A corporation may be the incorporator.
- There is no minimum capital requirement.
- The franchise tax compares favorably with that of other states.
- For companies doing business outside of Delaware, there is no corporation income tax.
- Delaware has no sales tax, personal property tax or intangible property tax on corporations.
- No taxation upon shares of stock held by non-residents and no inheritance tax upon non-resident holders.
- A corporation may keep all of its books and records outside of Delaware.
- You may have a principal place of business/address outside of the State of Delaware as well.
Africa as an Investment brand
Over the years Africa has had reverse investment brand development. Brand equity is developed and maintained by maximizing good news and minimizing the bad news, for this case it seems to pay to have more bad news that good news from Africa! AID money and Investment money go opposite ways; we aim to reverse the AID brand to an Investment brand. We do appreciate that very many careers and other resources are invested in AFRICA the AID brand and expect the usual resistance to change, however there is nothing as powerful as an idea whose time has come!
We arrange tours
To develop the investment brand we arrange Investment and trade group tours into AFRICA to show what is on the ground. The reality on the ground is at variance with the perception. We arrange Investment and trade luncheons, dinners and conferences to talk about the possibilities. We offer Individual consultancy to give a feel of what may be on offer.
We have booking arrangement with two hotel properties in Mombasa Kenya and Arusha Tanzania
African Nominee Accounts
For qualified firms and individuals who want to place funds on the Nairobi Stock exchange or other East African Stock exchange, we organize nominee accounts with a local Investment banker.
For Non resident East Africans who wish to purchase residential property or commercial property in East Africa, we work with local mortgage houses to finance, local property inspection companies to inspect and local realtors to find tenants.
